Working Committee meeting of Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal on Oct 16

Ludhiana, October 2, 2016: The working committee meeting of Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) will be held under the leadership of the newly appointed state president Piara Lal on October 16 at Hotel Punnu International, Court Road, Amritsar.
Giving this information here, the Mandal’s state general secretary Sunil Mehra and district general secretary Mohinder Aggarwal told that the meeting would pay tributes to its former state president Amrit Lal Jain who died recently.
They further told that the meeting would also hold a detailed discussion on GST and problems related to traders across the state. The problems to be discussed included pending VAT refunds, shortage of c-forms and illegal and unwanted raids and nakas by mobile wing.
They said the meeting would also discuss about the “wrong” policies of the state government, resulting to which trade and industry was suffering badly. They said about 20,000 industries have shifted to other states from Punjab during 9.5 years rule of the Akali-BJP government. Besides, about 62,000 VAT numbers have been surrendered by the traders across Punjab during the same period, they said.
The Mandal leaders further said the meeting would also discuss over the fact that the rate of tax was higher on hosiery/garments etc in Punjab as compared to neighbouring states. The meeting would also discuss about the forthcoming assembly elections in Punjab.
