Woman jumps from metro station, alive

New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) A 25-year-old married woman Tuesday attempted suicide by jumping from an elevated Metro station here but was only injured in one leg, police said.

Sarita Sharma, mother of two children, jumped from the Udyog Vihar Metro station in west Delhi around 9.15 a.m.

"She jumped on to the road from the Metro station and was injured in her right leg. She was taken to a hospital where her condition is said to be out of danger," a police official said.

Sharma, who resides in Peeragarhi area of west Delhi, had a dispute with her husband over some financial issue.

"She made a call to her husband before jumping from the Metro station," police said.
