Chandigarh, October 16, 2023: University Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management, Panjab University organised a webinar under the aegis of  World Food Day 2023, to spread awareness about how access to proper food and nutrition is a basic human right. 

The webinar commenced with a welcome note by the convenor Prof. Prashant Gautam.  The keynote speaker Chef T.K.Razdan, former Principal, CIHM,Chandigarh shared how World Food Day can promote sustainable agricultural practices to fight hunger, poverty and ensure adequate food to all on this Planet Earth.

The organising secretary Chef Jaswinder Singh & Chef Gaurav Kashyap, UIHTM, PU, introduced the distinguished speakers Chef Raj Kumar from GNDU, Amritsar and Chef Saurabh Khurana from Chandigarh University. Both the speakers shared a plethora of insightful methods of conserving water and food to avoid wastage and pilferage.Chef Sucharu Sharma, AIHM, Chandigarh enlightened the audience about how a simple ingredient like water can bring about massive changes in food preservation and cooking methods. 

The vote of thanks was delivered by Shruti Sharma, UIHTM,PU. The webinar benefitted the students and motivated them to adopt these food preservation methods on World Food Day 2023. The webinar was adorned with the insightful inputs by the mesmerizing methods of food preservation and adequate methods of optimum utilisation of food ingredients.
