Vital Anesthesia Simulation Training Program at PGIMS, Rohtak
The Department of Anesthesia at PGIMS, Rohtak, organized the Vital Anesthesia Simulation Training Program for the first time in North India. The program was aimed to train operating theater doctors and colleagues on crisis management, teamwork, and communication to enhance their preoperative crisis management skills and adhere to safe anesthesia practices.
Rohtak, March 9, 2026: The Department of Anesthesia at PGIMS, Rohtak, organized the Vital Anesthesia Simulation Training Program for the first time in North India. The program was aimed to train operating theater doctors and colleagues on crisis management, teamwork, and communication to enhance their preoperative crisis management skills and adhere to safe anesthesia practices.
Vice Chancellor Dr. H.K. Aggarwal inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. He emphasized the importance of preoperative patient safety and encouraged such programs to be held regularly and included in the curriculum for anesthesia postgraduate trainees. He described the program as extremely useful for operating theater personnel, saying it would help them enhance their skills.
Presiding over the program, PGIMS Director Dr. S.K. Singhal highlighted the importance of crisis management, inter-departmental teamwork and praised the structure and implementation of the program. He informed that 10 anesthesiologists, 2 surgeons, 2 gynecologists, 4 technicians and 4 nurses participated in the program and practiced simulation scenarios on handling difficult airway, pediatric complications, obstetric complications and burnout in the operation theater.
President of Haryana Medical Council Dr. Satish Khattar, Dr. Sushila Takshak, Dr. Monica Chhikara, Dr. Sailja, Dr. Uma, Dr. Manoj, Dr. Arun, Dr. Yogita, and Dr. Geeta were present during the program.
