VIGILANCE NABS ASI FOR TAKING BRIBE
Chandigarh, January 29, 2019: Punjab Vigilance Bureau, nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted at EOW Police Lines, Ludhiana red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000. Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Mohinder Singh (1514) was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Rachpal Singh Pali of village Lohara, Ludhiana. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 50,000 to help him a complaint case and the deal was struck at Rs. 40,000. After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 20,000 as a first instalment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
