Rohtak, July 15, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia called upon teachers to step out of their comfort zones and play an active role in fostering a superior academic and research culture within the university. He stated that, in keeping with the demands of the times, students must be equipped not merely with degrees but also with skills, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset, enabling them to become job creators rather than just job seekers.

While interacting with faculty members and research scholars from the Faculty of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the Department of Mathematics on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia urged teachers to take a proactive approach in motivating students toward internships, startups, innovation, and excellence in research. He advocated for creating an academic and social environment within the university that encourages learning, research, and the generation of new ideas. He also stressed the need to promote multidisciplinary research by enhancing coordination among departments.

Addressing the research scholars, Prof. Poonia remarked that there are no shortcuts to success; sustained hard work, discipline, and a willingness to learn are what elevate research to new heights. He encouraged scholars to embrace new technologies, capitalize on emerging opportunities, and continuously refine their skills. He advised them to attain proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies so that their work proves useful and aligned with the needs of society and the industry.

Dean (Academic Affairs) Prof. A.S. Maan, HoD Mathematics Prof. Sumit Gill, and HoD Computer Science Prof. Preeti Gulia, along with faculty members and research scholars from the departments of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, were present on the occasion.
