CT Group Honours Sporting Excellence with ₹5 Lakh Cash Awards on National Sports Day

Jalandhar, August 29, 2026: On the occasion of National Sports Day, CT Group celebrated the remarkable achievements of its student-athletes by recognising their outstanding performances at various All India Inter-University Championships. The Group felicitated 12 exceptional sporting talents who brought laurels to the institution across disciplines including Wrestling, Powerlifting, Arm Wrestling, Wushu and Pencak Silat.

The achievers were collectively honoured with cash awards amounting to ₹5 lakh, recognising their medals, dedication and exceptional performances at prestigious national-level university competitions.

Leading the list of sporting achievers were the Gold Medal winners, who showcased exceptional skill, determination and competitive spirit across multiple disciplines. Harkomal Singh Gill (B.B.A. – HR) delivered an outstanding performance in Arm Wrestling, securing two Gold Medals in the Right Arm and Left Arm categories.

In Wushu, Sonia and Lokesh clinched Gold Medals in their respective weight categories, while Syed Mohd. Ali Rouf Shah (B.Com) secured Gold in the 70 kg category.

The Pencak Silat contingent also registered remarkable victories, with Nitin and Sachin securing Gold Medals in the 45 kg and 90 kg categories, respectively. Sudha Chauhan (B.A.) added another Gold in the 75 kg category, further strengthening CT Group’s impressive sporting record.

Dheeraj added to the medal tally by securing a Silver Medal in Wushu, demonstrating commendable skill, perseverance and determination at the national-level university championship.

The Bronze Medal winners also made CT Group proud with their impressive performances. Shivani Singh (MBA) secured a Bronze Medal in Wrestling and also qualified for the KIU Games. In Powerlifting, Sneha Gharami (B.A.) and Gita (B.A.) won Bronze Medals in the 84 kg and 52 kg categories, respectively.

Towseefa Hassan (B.A.) secured a Bronze Medal in the -60 kg Pencak Silat category, adding another achievement to CT Group’s growing sporting legacy.
