VC of GNA University Professor Prem Kumar inaugurates 112th Orientation Course at HRDC, Panjab University

Chandigarh, November 1, 2016: Vice-Chancellor of GNA University Professor Prem Kumar today inaugurated the 112th Orientation Course at the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Panjab University.

The 4-weeks in-service training programme is being attended by 35 Assistant Professors from different Colleges and Universities.

Dr Prem Kumar, Chief Guest, in his very down-to-earth style interacted with the participants on the theme of ‘Power of Perspectives’. He narrated that every person has got several layers of potential in himself/herself but we fear to peel off
these layers and aspire to bring out that potential. He inspired the participants to change their perspective and see how it changes their achievements and take up the challenge of teaching in a changed world.

Professor Karamjeet Singh, Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh welcomed the participants and briefed them about the 28 days training which is focused towards enhancing the Pedagogical skills of the newly
inducted teachers.

The 4-weeks programme includes several innovative strategies to achieve the goal of awareness about educational polices, academic governance, theories of learning and teaching and acquire new skills of student centered learning, blended teaching and development of sensistisation to issues of gender, child rights, disability etc.
