Rohtak, April 7, 2026: On the occasion of World Health Day, a poster exhibition was organized by the Department of Community Medicine at the Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, held at the Ch. Ranbir Singh OPD. Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal inaugurated the poster exhibition as the Chief Guest.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal said that only healthy citizens can build a developed India. He emphasized the need to dispel misconceptions and spread awareness regarding the treatment of diseases. The Vice-Chancellor further noted that prevention plays a crucial role in curbing illness, and the field of Community Medicine makes a significant contribution in this regard.

Director Dr. S.K. Singhal, extending his greetings on World Health Day, urged everyone to maintain a clean and hygienic environment in their surroundings. Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Savita Singhal, remarked that we must strive to improve our health, prioritizing not only physical well-being but also social health. Dr. Neelam Kumar, HOD Community Medicine, asserted that any health-related challenge can be effectively tackled by adopting a scientific approach. Dr. Ramesh Verma highlighted the need to dispel the common misconception of applying turmeric and chili powder to dog bites; instead, one should seek proper medical treatment from a qualified physician. Dr. Meenakshi advised against relying on platforms like YouTube and ChatGPT for medical advice, emphasizing that treatment should strictly be undertaken in consultation with a doctor.

Dr. Varun Arora anchored the event. He noted that undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students participated enthusiastically, creating posters designed to convey messages of health awareness. The winners were felicitated by Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal. MBBS and MD students participated in various competitions, including quizzes, reels, and poster presentations. Dr. Kavita, a scientist from the ICMR, delivered a guest lecture.

In the 'Reels' competition, Dr. Arjun secured the first position, while Dr. Anjali Gupta took the second spot; in the 'Poster Presentation' category, Dr. Anchal Thakur won first place in the PG division, and Rakhi secured the top spot in the UG division. In the quiz, Preeti and Riya's team secured first place, while Rachita and Priyanshu's team finished in second place.
