Mumbai, August 5, 2026: Danfoss Power Solutions (DPS) India, a global leader in mobile and industrial hydraulics, inaugurated the Intelligent Hydraulic Systems Centre of Excellence at WIT College, Solapur, Maharashtra. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening industry–academia collaboration by creating an immersive learning environment that equips engineering students with practical skills and real-world exposure to advanced hydraulic technologies.
The Centre of Excellence combines Danfoss India’s global expertise in hydraulic systems with WIT College's academic excellence to bridge the gap between classroom concepts and industrial applications. At the heart of the facility is a fully functional Danfoss Power Solutions product testing setup, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with industry-grade hydraulic systems and develop practical skills aligned with the evolving needs of the fluid power industry.
Speaking on the inauguration, Rahul Vale, Sr. Director and Center Head, Danfoss India Innovation Cente, said, "The next era of industrial leadership will not be defined by access to technology alone, but by a nation's ability to create engineers who can innovate with it. As India advances towards becoming a global manufacturing and technology powerhouse, industry and academia must work together to transform classrooms into innovation ecosystems. The Intelligent Hydraulic Systems Centre of Excellence is an investment that could empower a new generation of engineers who will build smarter machines, accelerate industrial decarbonization, and develop technologies that can shape the future of manufacturing, both in India and for the world.”
Manoj Ghodmare, Sr. Manager, Danfoss India Innovation Center, added, "By partnering with academia, we are not only sharing knowledge but also co-creating solutions that will shape the future of hydraulics. Together, we are building a strong talent pipeline that will drive innovation and sustainable growth for years to come."
Designed as more than a learning facility, the Centre will serve as a platform for innovation, applied research, technical collaboration and skill development. By providing students with access to advanced technologies and practical learning opportunities, the initiative aims to develop engineers capable of addressing real-world engineering challenges while contributing to the future of sustainable hydraulic technologies.
As part of the long-term collaboration, Danfoss will continue to offer the elective courses on "Intelligent Hydraulic System" and "Embedded Systems for Mobile Hydraulics", alongside six-month internship opportunities for eligible students. By integrating academic learning with real-world industrial experience, the initiative will help build a skilled workforce capable of driving technological advancement and supporting a more sustainable future.
