Nilokheri, June 11, 2026: The state government has geared up to implement the provisions of the VB-G RAM GAct 2025—passed by the Parliament—on the ground. The Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD) has prepared and submitted a detailed action plan to the state's Rural Development Department for training relevant government officials, employees, and elected representatives ahead of the scheme's launch on July 1st. The 'Training of Trainers' phase has commenced to facilitate a state-wide training campaign; the first two-day training program in this series concluded on Wednesday at the HIRD campus.
During the event, Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan discussed the framework of the proposed training campaign and apprised the trainee master trainers of the scheme's significance, as well as the seriousness with which the central and state governments are approaching its effective implementation. He stated that, to ensure the scheme's success, approximately 18,000 stakeholders—including all Sarpanchs and Gram Sachiv (Village Secretaries)—are slated to be trained in the nuances of the new scheme.
Director Dr. Chauhan emphasized that schemes should undergo periodic review, evaluation, and necessary refinement to remain effective and aligned with public expectations and current needs. He noted that the 'Viksit Bharat Guarantee Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)'—or VB-G RAM G—is set to launch on July 1, 2026, marking a significant initiative for rural development and the strengthening of livelihoods. The scheme aims not merely to provide employment but to make rural families self-reliant, ensure optimal utilization of local resources, and foster sustainable development in villages.
He further stated that under the scheme, eligible families would be guaranteed 125 days of employment per year. Alongside this, special emphasis will be placed on developing rural infrastructure, creating community assets, conserving natural resources, enhancing water resources, encouraging public participation, and strengthening local livelihood opportunities. This scheme will serve as a vital medium for taking the resolve of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) to the villages.
Dr. Chauhan urged the trainers to disseminate information about the scheme to every eligible family so that no needy person is deprived of its benefits. He stated that the dream of a developed India would only be realized when the all-round development of villages is ensured. The VB-G RAM G initiative will serve as a crucial instrument in translating this vision into reality and will steer rural India toward a new path of development.
Also present on the occasion were Assistant Professors Dr. Sushil Mehta, Sandeep Kumar, and Wazir Singh; Consultant from the National Institute of Rural Development Gurbinder Singh; as well as Saurabh Arora, Ajay Kumar, Mohit Sharma, Resource Persons Ajab Singh, Narayan Dutt, Jyoti, Naveen Bhardwaj, Ankit Rahar, Mukesh Kumar, and Deshraj.
