Rohtak, September 10, 2026: Ambala Deputy Commissioner and former Rohtak DC Sachin Gupta said his nearly year-long tenure in Rohtak remains one of the most memorable experiences of his administrative career. As his first assignment as Deputy Commissioner, the stint gave him valuable lessons in administration, while public cooperation and ground-level feedback helped him understand and resolve people’s problems more effectively.
Gupta was speaking as the chief guest at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Haryana Union of Working Journalists (HUWJ) in Rohtak. Recalling his association with the city, he said working closely with people and listening to their concerns was an important learning experience.
He said stronger communication between the administration and the public makes it easier to understand problems and find effective solutions. He said Rohtak gave him an opportunity to meet people, listen to their concerns and receive direct feedback on various issues. While officers get opportunities to serve in different districts, he added, some places remain special because of the experiences and support received from the people. “Rohtak is one such district for me,” he said.
IAS Gupta said Rohtak would always hold a special place for him as it was his first posting as a Deputy Commissioner. Direct feedback from residents often helped the administration understand the actual situation on the ground and take timely and effective action.
HUWJ state president Manmohan Kathuria welcomed Gupta and said his tenure as DC would be remembered for his accessibility and sensitive approach towards public grievances. He said Gupta played an important role in strengthening communication between the administration and society.
The union honoured Gupta with a memento and shawl. State treasurer Lokesh Jain proposed the vote of thanks. Union office-bearers and members, senior gastroenterologist Dr Manoj Goyal, industrialist Rajendra Bansal and several prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
