Ludhiana, October 20, 2014: Team of Vigilance Bureau (VB) has caught red handed Central Excise and Service Tax Department Superintendent Amarjit Singh Dhaliwal for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs.20 lakh from Gurdeep Singh Jujhar, Managing Director, Fastway Citizen Cable Network Pvt Ltd.
Addressing the media persons here today, VB Ludhiana SSP Satinder Singh told the media persons that the accused was handling a case related to audit and had alleged sought bribe of Rs.3 crore for settling it. The accused had told the complainant that in case his demand was not met then he (the complainant) would have to pay a tax of Rs.30 crore. Finally, the deal was finalised at Rs.2 crore. The accused had asked the complainant to give a portion of Rs.60 lakh of the total bribe money before Diwali.
Today while allegedly accepting first installment of Rs.20 lakh of bribe money, the accused was caught red handed in a local hotel.
