UIHTM Organises Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan at Panjab University

Chandigarh, March 10, 2026: The University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), Panjab University, Chandigarh today organised a cleanliness drive on the university campus as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan initiative. The activity aimed to promote environmental responsibility, cleanliness, and community participation among students and staff.
Dr. Jaswinder Kumar, Director, UIHTM, in his address emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces. He encouraged students to actively contribute towards creating a clean and sustainable campus environment and highlighted that such initiatives help in instilling civic responsibility among the youth.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, UIHTM and Member of the Panjab University Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Team, who actively led the campaign and motivated students to participate in the cleanliness initiative. Students and faculty members of UIHTM enthusiastically participated by cleaning the surrounding areas and spreading awareness about proper waste disposal and sanitation practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal appreciated the active participation of students and stressed that such initiatives play an important role in developing a sense of social responsibility and environmental awareness among the young generation.
The event concluded with a pledge by the participants to continue supporting cleanliness initiatives and to work collectively towards maintaining a clean and green campus.
