Chandigarh, November 6, 2026: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised an interactive workshop titled “Mastering Business Case Studies: Analysis, Frameworks, and Problem Solving.”
The workshop was organised under the ambit of Alumni Relations, UIAMS, with the objective of strengthening alumni–student engagement and facilitating knowledge exchange between alumni and current students.
The workshop featured an alumna of UIAMS, Tara Tewari, and currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, as the resource person. Drawing upon her academic and professional experience in case analysis and research methodology, she provided students with practical insights into the systematic approach to solving business case studies.
A key highlight of the workshop was the step-by-step methodology shared by Tewari for analysing and solving business cases. She guided students through the process of understanding the case context, identifying the central business problem, analysing relevant information, applying appropriate management frameworks, evaluating alternatives, and recommending actionable solutions.
To provide hands-on exposure, the resource person also took up a business case study during the session and engaged students in its analysis and discussion. This practical exercise enabled participants to apply the methodology and analytical frameworks introduced during the workshop to a real-world business situation. The interactive discussion helped students appreciate the importance of structured thinking, critical analysis, and evidence-based decision-making in addressing complex managerial challenges.
Director, UIAMS, Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of strong alumni connections in enriching the academic experience of students. She highlighted how interactions with accomplished alumni provide valuable industry perspectives, practical insights, and guidance to students in preparing for their future professional journeys.
