Bangalore, November 6, 2026: The Canadian International School (CIS), Bangalore lit up as the school community conducted their annual Diwali festivities with the theme of 'Roshni Ka Utsav’. The event was a testament to CIS’s efforts in bridging different cultures together as students from all grade levels, faculty and parents, delivered an array of performances.
With over 40 nationalities across the school, this year’s celebration was truly unique and global while being rooted in Indian tradition. The events began with a diya-lighting ceremony by the leadership team, reflecting the school’s commitment to spreading joy and respecting the local traditions. One of the most memorable parts of the event was the annual Fashion Walk where the Grade 12 students, teachers, and senior leadership team strutted in their colorful traditional outfits, highlighting the diversity of our school and CIS’s dedication to learn from one another.
Similarly, the Teachers Dance had some new faces. One of them was CIS’s new Elementary School Principal, Tara Munroe. This was her first Diwali celebration. “Getting to be a part of the teacher dance made it a day to remember”, said Tara Munroe, Elementary School Principal, adding, “Thank you CIS for welcoming me into this beautiful tradition and sharing the light.”
