UIAMS Celebrates International Day of Climate Action
The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, celebrated the International Day of Climate Action with great enthusiasm and awareness-building activities aimed at promoting environmental consciousness among students.

Chandigarh, October 24, 2025: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, celebrated the International Day of Climate Action with great enthusiasm and awareness-building activities aimed at promoting environmental consciousness among students.
Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Director, UIAMS welcomed the participants and emphasised the growing concern for preserving nature to keep our climate clean and pollution-free. She highlighted the urgent need for strong advocacy and collective responsibility toward environmental conservation and the protection of diminishing wildlife species.
The event featured the screening of short films and documentaries on climate change and biodiversity, supported by Roundglass Sustain Organisation. Anirud from the organization narrated and explained the central themes of the films, inspiring the audience to reflect on individual and collective action for a sustainable future.
A quiz competition on the theme “Climate Justice and Collective Action for a Sustainable Future” was also organized, attracting enthusiastic participation from students of Ankur School, Government Schools, PGIMER, and various University Departments like UIAMS, Geology, Physics, Defence Studies and Public Administration.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Mohindra, and saw the participation of over 70 students.
The results of the quiz were as follows:
1st Position: Mannat and Sehal – Ankur School
2nd Position: Pooja and Pratham – Department of Physics
3rd Position: Archit Sharma and LoveLeen Chauhan – UIAMS
Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Director, UIAMS, and Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.
The celebration reflected UIAMS’s ongoing commitment to promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and responsible citizenship among the youth.
