Gurugram, October 30, 2026: Gurugram University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kaushik on Friday inaugurated ‘Mano-Sukoon’, a mental wellness clinic, along with two research centres on the university campus, marking a major step towards promoting mental health awareness and accessible psychological care.
The two centres launched on the occasion are the Centre for Prevention and Intervention of Substance Abuse (CIPSA) and the Centre for Women’s Health and Wellbeing (CWWH).
VC Prof. Kaushik said Mano-Sukoon aims to provide counselling, psychosocial support and clinical services, while promoting early identification of mental health concerns. He emphasised that addressing mental health issues requires not just treatment but also greater awareness and timely intervention.
The clinic will be staffed by experienced psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. Counselling services will be available at affordable rates, while BPL card holders and residents of 10 villages and two slum settlements adopted by the Department of Psychology will receive free services.
Appointments can be booked through the university website at gurugramuniversity.ac.in/manosukoon. The clinic will remain open from Monday to Saturday, between 10 am and 6 pm.
Head of the Department of Psychology, Prof. Gayatri Raina, said lasting solutions to psychological issues and substance abuse require early identification, effective counselling, family support and social awareness, alongside treatment.
VC Prof. Kaushik congratulated Prof. Raina and her team on the initiative, appreciating the university's efforts to make mental healthcare more accessible to the university community and surrounding areas.
