Rohtak, October 30, 2026: Students must complement technological proficiency with social and emotional intelligence to succeed in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), said Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia while addressing the annual function ‘Abhivyakti-2026’ at Birla School, Pilani, as the chief guest.

The event was special for Prof. Poonia, an alumnus of the school (1991 batch), who fondly recalled his student days and credited the institution with laying a strong foundation for his academic journey. He also expressed gratitude to his teachers and the then principal.

Motivating students, Prof. Poonia urged them to embrace academic challenges as opportunities to learn, take responsibility for shaping their future and pursue their goals with perseverance. He emphasised the importance of sports and extracurricular activities in overall personality development, adding that failures should be treated as learning experiences rather than setbacks.

The school management honoured Prof. Poonia with a memento. He also released the school’s annual magazine, ‘News and Views’.

Principal Dhirendra Singh, Headmaster S.P. Anand and Birla Education Trust Secretary Major General (retd) S.S. Nair, among others, were present on the occasion.
