The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University (PU)  today conducted the formal handing over of newly developed rooms in its building, ensuring appropriate allocation for various student clubs, academic cells, and specialised facilities.

Chandigarh, October 23, 2025: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University (PU)  today conducted the formal handing over of newly developed rooms in its building, ensuring appropriate allocation for various student clubs, academic cells, and specialised facilities.

The allocation includes dedicated spaces for the ECRC, Alumni Resource Cell, Sports Room, TEDx Room, Placement Cell and First Aid Room, along with labs for Capital Markets, Business Analytics, and IT & Telecom. Additionally, specific rooms have been designated for presentations, group discussions, and interviews, providing enhanced facilities for industry interactions and campus placements.

The upgraded infrastructure also includes arrangements for hosting industry experts, academicians, and company professionals who regularly visit the institute for placements, internships, and mentorship programs.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Panjab University Student Council representatives, including Vice President Ashmeet Singh, Secretary Abhishek Dagar, and Joint Secretary Mohit Mandrena. The administrative staff and faculty members of UIAMS facilitated the process and guided the allocation exercise.

Director, UIAMS, thanked the Council members for visiting the department at short notice and for their encouragement and support in this important initiative.

The Director also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Departmental Representatives (DRs) namely, Adarsh Sharma, Diksha Bhushan Sharma, and Anshika Gautam, for their active involvement in coordinating the process. Adarsh Sharma was especially commended for facilitating communication and inviting the elected Council members, ensuring their participation in the event.

Vice President Ashmeet Singh praised the administration’s efforts, noting that the needs and demands of students have been given due consideration and that the department’s collaborative approach reflects true synchronisation between the administration and elected student representatives.

Secretary Abhishek Dagar expressed his full support for UIAMS in all student-centric initiatives and affirmed his commitment to standing with the institute’s student community in its developmental pursuits.

Joint Secretary Mohit Mandrena assured that he, along with the council, would continue supporting positive initiatives by the department and emphasized the need to challenge bureaucratic practices that hinder progress at the university level.

All representatives jointly acknowledged that UIAMS has set a new benchmark by initiating proactive measures to improve student facilities, foster collaboration, and strengthen future-oriented management education through infrastructure and experiential learning opportunities.

The administrative staff along with Assistant Registrar Manjeet Singh and faculty members of UIAMS facilitated the process and guided the allocation exercise.

Training and Placement Officer, Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, acknowledged the valuable support of the Council members and expressed gratitude to all students, faculty, and representatives for actively participating in and encouraging this collaborative initiative.
