Chandigarh, April 7, 2022: Department of Oral Pathology, Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized Orientation Program on Forensic Odontology in Department of Evening Studies Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The program was attended by Undergraduate and Postgraduate Dental students and Faculty members of Tricity and Nearby Dental Colleges.
Dr. Shally Gupta, the Organizing Chairperson along with her Team members Dr. Anubha Gulati, Dr. Simranjit Singh, Guest Speakers and Postgraduate students inaugurated the Academic session. Academic session included two lectures and hands on workshop on Human Age estimation by renowned speakers Dr. Aman Chowdhary and Dr. Priyanka Kapoor who are working as Professors in Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi
Both the speakers illuminated the delegates with theoretical as well as practical knowledge of some important aspects of forensic odontology including bite mark analysis, skull and dental profiling, 2D/3D reconstruction, rugoscopy, and cheiloscopy. The audience got a glimpse of the scope of forensic odontology and an insight on the employability and research opportunities in this novel subject.
