Two-day NUMCON begins at DMC&H

Dayanand Medical College inaugurated a two-day National Undergraduate Medical Conference. The event, organized by the students for the students, was aimed at fostering academic excellence and camaraderie among medical students from various colleges. It was inaugurated by the chief guest, Shri Bipin Gupta, Secretary of the DMC&H Managing Society.

Ludhiana, May 24, 2024: Dayanand Medical College inaugurated a two-day National Undergraduate Medical Conference. The event, organized by the students for the students, was aimed at fostering academic excellence and camaraderie among medical students from various colleges. It was inaugurated by the chief guest, Shri Bipin Gupta, Secretary of the DMC&H Managing Society.

In his inaugural address, Shri Bipin Gupta remarked, "This conference provides a unique platform for students to learn, collaborate, and showcase their talents. We are proud to host such an inspiring event." He also praised the students and the organizing secretary of the event, Dr. Prabhjot, and her team for taking on the responsibility of organizing such a significant conference.

Present at the event were Shri Bipin Gupta, Secretary, Shri Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer of the DMC&H Managing Society, Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Dr. Bishav Mohan, Medical Superintendents, guest speakers, and student delegates from different medical colleges.

The conference agenda was packed with enriching activities, including guest lectures, hands-on training workshops, and a delightful gala night designed to strengthen the bonds between participants from different colleges. The workshops offered practical training in several critical areas of medicine, such as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pharmacology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Basic Life Support (BLS), and the use of Artificial Intelligence tools for medical students.

Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal of DMC&H, also shared his thoughts, saying, "The diversity of topics and the expertise of our guest speakers make this conference an exceptional learning experience. We believe that by engaging in such comprehensive training, our students are better equipped to meet the challenges of modern healthcare."

Highlighting the first day of the conference, Dr. Indu Arneja, a renowned author and the founder-director of the Indian Institute of Healthcare Communication, delivered the inaugural lecture. Her insights set the tone for an intellectually stimulating series of talks and discussions.

Participants had the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge through various competitions, including case presentations, paper presentations, poster presentations, and clinical care contests. These events encouraged students to engage deeply with their studies and share their findings with peers.

The event concluded with a gala night for the students. More than 200 students participated in this conference.
