Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive organised to pay homage to Kargil War Heroes
In the earnest attempt to remember the true heroes of our nation who laid their lives for our better tomorrow, a 'Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive, was organized on Wednesday, at Block I of UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh to pay homage to the brave Kargil War Heroes on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.

Chandigarh, July 26, 2023: In the earnest attempt to remember the true heroes of our nation who laid their lives for our better tomorrow, a 'Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive, was organized on Wednesday, at Block I of UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh to pay homage to the brave Kargil War Heroes on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.
The primary objective of this campaign was not only to promote tree plantation but also to foster a sense of responsibility towards preserving and safeguarding these precious assets.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest , hon’ble DUI of Panjab University , Professor Rumina Sethi. , Prof JK Goswamy, Director UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Prof Goswamy formally welcomed the chief guest and articulated various efforts being made by his team for organizing this event. This event was organized by Dr Parveen Goyal, Syndicate Senate Member and Professor, UIET, Panjab University and Dr Preetika Sharma, Assistant Professor, UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Addressing the gathering of around 100 audiences, Prof Rumina Sethi talked about the importance of tree plantation and its conservation. She said that its our primary duty to show our concern to the nature and protect it so that a better future environment can be given to the future generations. She also inspired all with her valuable insights and inspiring words in light of Kargil Vijay Divas. She motivated us to actively participate in such noble initiatives in future as well.
