THREE-DAY TRAINING OF TRAINERS PROGRAM ON RTI STARTS IN LUDHIANA

LUDHIANA: The Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration Punjab (MGSIPA), Regional Centre, Patiala, has started a three-day training of Trainers program on Right To Information Act 2005 on Wednesday (March 7).

Around 30 officials from various departments of the district took part in the training on the first day. The program was inaugurated by District Revenue Officer Mrs. Savita.

The program is being sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training of Central Government and it aims at sensitizing the officers about the Act and also to make them aware about the RTI Act 2005.

District Revenue Officer Mrs. Savita motivated the participants to attend the program seriously so that they could not face any kind of difficulties in dealing with the applications filed under RTI Act by the people and could disburse the applications timely.

Mr. Jarnail Singh, Course Director (RTI), MGSIPA, Chandigarh–cum-Regional Project Director, MGSIPA Regional Centre, Patiala and Mr. Amarjeet Singh Sodhi, Project Director, MGSIPA Regional Centre, Patiala highlighted the importance of training program along with

RTI experts DC Gupta from Indian Defence Accounts Service (Retd) and Mr. Yashpaul Manvi, Former Assistant Director, Punjab School Education Board told the officials about the background of Act, Suo-Moto disclosure of information by public authority, appointment of Public Information Officers, Exemptions from Disclosures, constitution of state information commission and removal of information commissioners.
