THE RUNWAY 2026: CT Group of Institutions Celebrates Student Talent at Annual Fashion Extravaganza

Jalandhar, April 29, 2026: The Department of Fashion Design at CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar, successfully hosted its much-anticipated annual fashion showcase, "The Runway 2026 – A Fashion Show by Budding Designers," at the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium. The event drew an enthusiastic audience of industry professionals, faculty, students, and fashion enthusiasts, and stood as a proud reflection of the department's commitment to nurturing creative excellence.

This year's showcase was a testament to the remarkable creative vision of CT Group's fashion design students, who drew inspiration from global fashion trends while celebrating India's rich cultural heritage. The event served as a vibrant platform for emerging talent, featuring fourteen distinctive collections that seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary aesthetics — pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion design.

The runway came alive with a kaleidoscope of styles, colors, and silhouettes across fourteen thematic collections: Maharani Bridal Era, Scarlet Style, Heritage of Five Rivers, Gujarati Grace, Vintage Slay, Imperial Fusion, Dogran Era, Phulkari Folk, Colourful Land, Sheesha Shine, Flower Buds, Saree Reimagined, and Couture Rebellion. Each collection reflected the students' deep research, craftsmanship, and individual creative sensibility, earning enthusiastic applause from a discerning audience. Beyond the runway, the event also served as a valuable networking platform, enabling students to forge meaningful connections with industry professionals and fashion influencers.

The show recognised outstanding achievement across several categories. In the Best Collection – Designer category, Team 14 (Couture Rebellion) claimed the first prize, Team 2 (Vintage Slay) earned the second prize, and Team 9 (Scarlet Style) took home the third prize. Group 1 was additionally honoured with the Best Kids Collection award for their presentation Tiana.

The Best Model honours were distributed across all competing teams, celebrating the confidence and poise of student models on the runway. Prabhnoor represented Colorful Land, while Muskan and Dheeraj walked for Vintage Slay. Bhoomi was recognized for Saree Reimagined, and Avnoor Kaur for Flower Buds. Khalina brought grace to Daur-e-Dogran – Ranga Di Riyasat, and Rishita was celebrated for Gujarati Grace. Akshita represented Rang-e-Pakistan, and Priyanka Thakur impressed for Imperial Fusion. Ravneet was honoured for Scarlet Style, and Meda Bakshi shone in Sheesha Shine. Kritika was recognized for Maharani Bridal Era, and Kiranjot Kaur for Heritage of Five Rivers. Ekta and Akashdeep Singh were jointly celebrated for Rang-e-Shahi Phulkari, while Disha and Md. Ehtesham received recognition for Couture Rebellion.

The event was graced by celebrated guests who served as Judges and Guests of Honor —Pankaj Thakur, Neha Warraich, and Chitwan — all prominent figures in the fashion industry. Their presence lent the occasion a distinctive prestige, and their expertise provided students with invaluable perspective on the world of professional fashion.

Senior leadership of CT Group of Institutions addressed the gathering and commended the students for their hard work and innovation. Dr Manbir Singh, Managing Director; Tanika Channi, Joint Managing Director; Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur; and Co-Vice Chairman Manjinder Kaur all emphasised the pivotal role that such events play in building industry-ready skills and nurturing creative confidence in students. Divoy Chhabra, Principal, and Mahesh Khadwal, Head of Department, along with the entire faculty of the Fashion Design Department, CTIHpM, CT Group of Institutions, extended their wholehearted support and guidance — motivating students to continually hone their craft and embrace the vast opportunities the fashion industry has to offer.
