Chandigarh, June 16, 2025: The Centre for Nuclear Medicine, Panjab University has achieved 100 percent placement for its 2025 batch M.Sc. (Nuclear Medicine) students with the highest package of 16.2 lacs per annum and an average package of 11 lacs per annum.

The Centre emphasises skill-based training, up to date competency based curriculum, and strong collaborations to ensure high placement rates. As a vital and requisite part of the nuclear medicine program, the students get training in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures with clinical hands on training at Fortis hospital, Mohali, as its collaborative partner. The students also got specialised training on high dose therapy at HBCHRC, New Chandigarh (Mullanpur),a premier tertiary cancer care facility in the region.

“This multicentre exposure along with the PU’s learning resource and environment demonstrate the strength of this course and professional competency in its students”, said PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig. She has congratulated the outgoing batch of students as well as the faculty and the collaborators for securing suitable placements with attractive packages for the students.

The Centre for Nuclear medicine offers a Masters as well as PhD program in Nuclear medicine. The admissions to the Masters course are through common entrance test (CET) conducted every year by Panjab University. The course is unique as the first year of the course classes are conducted in Panjab University while in the second year the students are imparted practical hand on clinical training by collaborative clinical partners. The seats for the course are limited to 10 + 2(NRI) and therefore students with meritorious past and high CET merit get the admission. Since Nuclear medicine is an emerging field growing at a fast pace, therefore there is 100% placement of students immediately after getting the Masters’degree. The Centre has a strong alumni base and many alumni from the Centre are working in nationally renowned hospitals/Institute of high repute.
