Chandigarh, June 30, 2026: Six-week Summer Research Internship Program 2026 concluded at the Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, here today.
The prestigious Summer Internship programme comprised several specialised modules encompassing diverse areas of microbiology, providing participants with hands-on training and exposure to advanced laboratory techniques. More than 50 students from reputed institutions across India participated in the internship programme.
Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, Dean of University Instructions, Panjab University, graced the valedictory function as the Chief Guest. She lauded the Department's efforts in providing students with exposure to advanced laboratory practices.
Prof. Savita Gupta, Director, Research and Development Cell, Panjab University, graced the function as the Guest of Honour. She emphasised that, in the rapidly evolving technological landscape, such programs are significant in the era of artificial intelligence.
Prof. Naveen Gupta, Chairperson, Department of Microbiology, encouraged the students to pursue excellence in their academic and research careers and conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavours. Dr.Khem Raj, Programme Coordinator, highlighted the various training modules offered during the internship and elaborated their vast scope.
