Ludhiana, June 8, 2016: For the last 11/2 years Dikha needed the help of a walking stick to move around. Now he has been given a chance to walk again without the fear of pain after the doctors at Christian Medical College Ludhiana operated on him for a chronic painful condition in his right leg.
Dikha, a businessman based in Nigeria (Lagos) had been having pain and instability of the right knee since an injury on the football field, 11/2 year ago. He needed the support of a walking stick. His business partner in India suggested the reliable Christian Medical College Ludhiana as the place to help him. The CT scan and MRI done at CMC revealed a non-union a fracture of the bone in the right leg & instability of his knee joint. The surgery was carried out on 01.06.2016 by Prof. Dr. Rajesh Paul and Dr. Anupam Mahajan. Dikha is recovering now to continue physiotherapy and to enable him to return to a full and normal life.
It was the large hearted commitment and support from Mr. Onkar Singh Phawa of the Avon Cycles, which made it possible for this patient from Nigeria to have the best treatment. The administration at CMC made special arrangements for the patients stay, with all aspects of his care being looked after, from dietary needs to enabling him to cope with hot Indian summer.
The patient was discharged in a satisfactory condition on 05.06.2016 from CMC to continue further physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
