SUPVA’s ‘Eent Ki Deodhi’ makes cut for Shimla Film Festival
Short film Eent Ki Deodhi, produced by Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), has been selected for the 12th International Film Festival of Shimla, where it will be screened in the Short Fiction category.
Rohtak, September 15, 2026: Short film Eent Ki Deodhi, produced by Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), has been selected for the 12th International Film Festival of Shimla, where it will be screened in the Short Fiction category.
The festival will be held from September 25 to 27 and will feature films from 35 countries.
Mahesh TP, FC of Faculty of Film and Television, said the 9-minute-17-second film has been written and directed by Vaishnavi Srivastava, a 2020-batch student of the Direction course. The film was made as part of the sixth-semester sequence shoot project.
Enosh Elias handled cinematography, Anshul Rohilla worked on location, mixing and design, Sanjay Philips on music production, Shraddha Srivastava on vocals and Yash Chopra on editing.
SUPVA Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya described the selection as a matter of pride for the university, saying the film’s selection at an international festival reflected the creative potential of its students and the institution’s resources. He congratulated the cast and crew and expressed hope that the film would draw the jury’s attention and win an award.
Story: Eent Ki Deodhi revolves around an elderly couple, Lata and Prabal, who return to Brahmpuri to sell their ancestral home and sign the final documents. As they take one last tour of the old house, years of unspoken distance between them surface, revealing how time and circumstances have shaped their relationship.
