RECOVERED: Police recover missing child

Ferozepur, January 20, 2013:The 4-year-old child missing since November 19, 2012 under mysterious circumstances was recovered by the police, after two months.

SSP Varinder Pal Singh said, the child was sold by a woman to one of his relative for Rs.20,000.

Police have arrested the woman gang member.

The recovered child has been handed over to his parents.

SSP further said, On November 19, 2012, Sarwan son of Kala resident of Gol Bagh, Ferozepur City gave a written complaint that his four year old son is missing from home and someone might have kidnapped him. 

He further said a team was constituted under the supervision of SP (D) Raghbir Singh which started the search operation at the suspected places on war-footing.  All the police stations were flashed with the kidnapping news. 

The Guruarsahai police Inspector Gurdip Singh recovered the child from Laxmi, a widow and resident of village Sekhra who disclosed to the police, during the investigation that she being widow and childless was in need of a child. 

She further disclosed that Balwinder Kaur, a resident of Khalsa Colony, Ali Ke Road is her relative and she sold this child to her for Rs.20,000 saying that the child was of a divorced lady and since she had to remarry, she was not in need of the child.

DSP Vibhore Kumar informed that Balwinder Kaur the main accused behind the kidnapping and selling the child had been arrested.

Further police investigation is in progress.
