Rohtak, February 21, 2026: Reaffirming the state government’s steadfast commitment to responsive and people-centric governance, Haryana’s Development and Panchayats, Mines and Geology Minister Krishan Lal Panwar observed that providing citizens with essential amenities such as electricity, drinking water, roads, and quality healthcare is not merely a policy objective, but a governance responsibility that must reflect visibly on the ground.
The Minister was chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee at the DRDA Hall, District Development Bhawan, Rohtak. The meeting unfolded in a constructive and solution-driven manner, marked by focused deliberations, prompt decision-making, and coordinated administrative action.
Out of the 16 complaints included in the agenda, 14 complaints were resolved during the meeting itself, while the remaining two were entrusted to specially constituted committees with clear instructions and timelines for submission of inquiry reports. The structured and methodical handling of grievances ensured that citizens’ concerns were not carried forward mechanically, but addressed with intent and responsibility.
Throughout the proceedings, the Minister engaged closely with each case, issuing firm and balanced directions to the concerned departments. He emphasised that grievance redressal mechanisms must function as instruments of relief and reassurance for citizens, and not as routine formalities. Officers were directed to ensure that every complaint is resolved in a manner that restores public confidence in administration.
Issues relating to healthcare services, drinking water availability, electricity supply, road connectivity, environmental safety, land disputes, and civic infrastructure were taken up in detail. In matters concerning public health, the Minister underlined the importance of sensitivity, accountability, and immediate corrective action, reiterating that any lapse affecting citizens’ well-being would be viewed with seriousness.
Village-specific grievances were addressed with a blend of immediate relief measures and long-term solutions. Directions were issued for interim arrangements where required, alongside permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Monitoring committees were constituted in select cases to ensure follow-up and sustained oversight, reflecting a governance approach that prioritises execution alongside decision-making.
The meeting witnessed active participation from public representatives, including Members of Parliament, MLAs, and the Mayor, who placed constituency-related issues before the Committee. Their inputs were examined within the administrative framework, ensuring that public representation translated into administrative response.
Senior district officers from the civil administration, police, health, power, urban local bodies, public works, and allied departments remained present throughout the meeting, enabling swift inter-departmental coordination and on-the-spot resolutions.
The Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, while coordinating the proceedings, ensured that decisions taken during the meeting were clearly recorded with assigned responsibility and timelines, reinforcing accountability at every level.
The overall conduct of the meeting reflected a governance ethos where public grievances are addressed with seriousness, empathy, and efficiency, and where administrative systems respond decisively under clear leadership. The Minister reiterated that grievance redressal forums must leave citizens with assurance—not merely of being heard, but of being served.
