Three-day annual fair from February 23rd at the Baba Mast Nath Math
Circle Kabaddi competition and prize wrestling competition will be the highlights of the fair
Rohtak, February 21, 2026: Following a tradition dating back to the 18th century, a three-day annual fair will commence on February 23rd at the local Baba Mastnath Math, Asthal Bohar, in memory of Siddha Shiromani Baba Mastnath Maharaj. The fair will be held on the seventh, eighth, and ninth days i.e., Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, respectively.
Mahant Balaknath Yogi, the incumbent Mahant of Asthal Bohar Math and MLA from Tijara, provided detailed information regarding this on Friday. Speaking to media persons, Mahant Balaknath Yogi explained that this fair, which has been held continuously for decades, is one of the major religious traditions of the region. Devotees from far and wide pay obeisance at the samadhi of Baba Mastnath and pray for the fulfillment of their wishes. It is believed that prayers offered with a sincere heart at this major religious site of the Nath sect are always fulfilled. Due to this faith and devotion, thousands of devotees visit the fair every year.
He explained that this fair was started with the aim of keeping Baba Mastnath's memory alive and spreading his teachings to the masses. Over time, the event has become a hub for social and sporting activities, along with religious programs. This fair serves as a means of carrying forward the tradition of Baba Mastnath's message of service, restraint, meditation, and public welfare. Groups of saints, mahants, sadhus, and a large number of devotees from various states of the country will arrive to visit Baba Mastnath's samadhi.
Mahant Balaknath Yogi said that on the first day of the fair, February 23rd, special prayers, havans, and religious rituals will be held in the presence of saints and sages in the morning. Devotees will seek blessings by visiting the fair throughout the day, and the atmosphere will be filled with devotional hymns and kirtans.
Teams from various states will participate in the circle kabaddi competition, to be held on the second day, February 24th. The winer team in the competition will receive a prize of 100,000 rupees, and the runner up team will receive 71,000 rupees. In addition to honoring all participating teams, special prizes of 31,000 rupees will also be awarded to the best raider and best catcher.
On the final day of the fair, February 25th, a prize-winning wrestling competition will be held, featuring renowned wrestlers. The first prize is 151,000 rupees, the second prize is 100,000 rupees, the third prize is 51,000 rupees, and the fourth prize is 31,000 rupees. This competition will be the main attraction of the fair.
Mahant Balaknath Yogi said that the Baba Mastnath Math is not only a center of spiritual activities but also makes significant contributions to the fields of education and health. Thousands of students are pursuing higher education at the Baba Mastnath University established by the Math. In addition, two schools are also being run. The charitable hospital run by the Math also provides healthcare services to the people of the area.
Mahant Balaknath Yogi said that as part of the public service initiative, the Math is proposing a 1,000-bed hospital, for which a “Bhoomi Pujan” ceremony will be held in the coming months. Describing the annual fair as a symbol of devotion and social unity, he invited local residents and devotees to attend the fair with their families.
