Trials for Selection of Girl Wrestlers in Residential Sports Academy on February 24th: DC Sachin Gupta
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that the Sports Department Haryana is running a Residential Wrestling Sports Academy (Girls) at the Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium, Rohtak. Trials for selection of girl wrestlers aged between 12 and 19 years will be conducted on February 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the stadium.
Rohtak, February 21, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that the Sports Department Haryana is running a Residential Wrestling Sports Academy (Girls) at the Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium, Rohtak. Trials for selection of girl wrestlers aged between 12 and 19 years will be conducted on February 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the stadium.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the selection will be based on performance in the trials. Girls who have won medals or participated in recognised international or national competitions, as well as medal winners at the state and district levels, will be considered for selection.
He informed that interested players must report at the venue on the scheduled date and time with all required documents, including:
• Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate
• Original and photocopy of Aadhaar Card
• Original and photocopy of Residence Certificate
• Two passport-size photographs
• Original certificate or attested copy of school admission/withdrawal certificate
The Deputy Commissioner further clarified that participation in the trial is permitted only in proper sports kit. A maximum of two players per weight category will be selected. Selected players will be required to reside compulsorily in the residential academy, where boarding and lodging facilities will be provided by the department. However, expenses related to travel between the academy and school will be borne by the players themselves.

Encouraging young girls to seize this opportunity, the Deputy Commissioner said that the initiative aims to provide professional training, discipline, and a strong foundation for aspiring sportspersons, enabling them to excel at higher competitive levels.
