Ludhiana, September 19, 2014: Jagpal Singh Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Punjab, has said that the state government is committed for ensuring smooth functioning of CPRCs, CPSCs and Saanjh Kendra';s across the state. He said that this while chairing a review meeting of Saanjh Kendra';s held here today.

While speaking to media persons, Sandhu said that for carrying forward the governance reforms initiated by the state government, "I am visiting different parts of the state to seek feedback from the stakeholders. We want effective governance so that people could be benefitted from our services. First we would identify the bottlenecks and then we would find out ways to iron out those bottlenecks," said Jagpal Singh Sandhu.

During his visit to the district today, Sandhu, along with S K Sharma, Director General of Police visited Community Policing Suvidha Centre (CPSC) at Samrala, Community Policing Resource Centre (CPRC) and Suvidha Kendra in Mini Secretariat, in the city. At both the places, they held a meeting of Saanjh Kendra Committee members, where feedback was sought on ways in which the functioning of Saanjh Kendra';s and other governance reform initiatives of the state government can be bettered.

DGP S K Sharma said that during last year, more than 21,000 family disputes were solved through Saanjh Kendra';s in Punjab.

During the meeting here today, the two-dozen odd committee members gave several suggestions through which the functioning of Saanjh Kendra';s could be improved.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Promod Ban, Police Commissioner, Ludhiana, Nilambari Vijay Jagdale, Pritpal Singh Gohalwaria, consultant, Project Saanjh, besides several other officers from police and district administration.
