State government to bear entire expenses on treatment of Sangeeta Nair

Ludhiana, June 25, 2014: In a benevolent gesture, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced that the state government would bear the entire expenses on the treatment of Sangeeta Nair, the niece of eminent freedom fighter Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar, who was undergoing treatment for heart ailment at a private hospital in Ludhiana.          

Disclosing this today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that Badal has given a nod to initially sanction Rs 2 lakh on this count and assured that the state government would bear the entire cost of her treatment till she recovers fully, in recognition with the supreme sacrifice made by Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar in the national freedom struggle. The Chief Minister also prayed to Almighty for the early recovery of Nair.
