Chandigarh, December 7, 2023: The Department of Community Education and Disability Studies organized a special lecture on the topic ‘Anxiety Causes and Mental Health Action’ under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof.(Dr) Renu Vig.
The session started with a welcome address from Dr.Md. Saifur Rahman, Chairperson of the Department, and introduced the speaker Dr.Neeraj Kumar Clinical Psychologist from Government Multi Specialty Hospital Sector-16, Chandigarh. Resource person explained the concept of anxiety, types of anxiety-mild, moderate and severe, causes of anxiety, practical aspect of anxiety in detail. Further, resource person introduced some activities to manage and deal anxiety situations likewise-tapping, affirmation, deep breathing, walk and described the nerves system that affects like, sympathetic and parasympathetic. Moreover, He practically implied ‘One-minute wonder therapy’ on all participants. The session was very useful for all including Children with Special Needs.
All the faculty members: Professor (Dr.) Navleen Kaur, Nitin Raj, and Taukir Alam were present. The lecture ended with a vote of thanks given by Nitin Raj.
