Special lecture on Initiative for open access abstract(I4OA) and writing abstract and “intellectual honesty and research integrity”

Chandigarh, February 17, 2023: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a special lecture today on Initiative for open access abstract(I4OA) and writing abstract” & “intellectual honesty and research integrity”. Prof. Joginder Singh, DLIS, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra was resource person. Dr. Shiv Kumar chairperson of the department welcomed the resource person. 

Prof. Joginder Singh emphasized on the importance of abstract and abstract writing in the academic fields, he also discussed the relevance of abstract in the open access. He made the students aware about the basic concept of abstracts and how the process of abstracts making is being conducted.  He also threw light on various fundamentals factors and standards that are needed to be remembered while making abstracts giving in depth information about the initiative for open access(I4OA), Prof Joginder Singh also discussed about the intellectual honesty and research integrity wherein different quotes, policies and examples were taken for better understanding of the topic. He also told the students about some of the tools that can help in maintaining the research integrity and honesty. At the end an interactive session was held with students.
