Special Lecture Delivered by Professor Rajbir Singh Yadav

Chandigarh, May 11, 2017: The Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies organized a Special Lecture Delivered by Professor Rajbir Singh Yadav, Department of Political Science, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (Haryana).
Professor Rajbir Singh Yadav delivered a Special Lecture on the topic “Gandhian World Order: An Alternative Paradigm for Peace”. In his Lecture he explained all aspects of Gandhian Philosophy and compared it with the current Scenario and raised several questions for participants which have to be ponder on and to have more discussions. While discussing on Economic thought of Gandhi he emphasized that Gandhi wanted Production by asses not mass production and further said that Small Scale Industries be given importance not to replace Major industries but to supplement them. He explained the meaning of Gandhi’s Satyagraha and pointed out that today, the unique non-violent method known as satyagraha has been very much
misunderstood, misused and abused by the individuals, politicians and the power, hungry people for their personal gains. Further, he added that it is very important to understand the real meaning of Satyagraha for which Gandhi fought against all
kinds of discriminations, in-justices and exploitation in all spheres of life and society.
