Sihota Scholarship to the Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar, March 8, 2016: Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar who excelled in university examinations in 2015-16 were awarded scholarship in a special function organized in the College today. Awarding the Sihota Scholarship worth Rs.60,000, the President of College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur said that the College was committed to provide quality education to its students and it would ensure all possible help to the deserving and needy students.
Speaking to the gathering, Dr. G.S. Samra, the Principal of the College informed that Sihota Scholarship was earlier sponsored by Late Dr. M.S. Hundal, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. After his death it has been continued by by his wife Dr. Geeta Hundal, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. He also informed that the college procures scholarships for the meritorious students, including Michael Sehgal Scholarship worth Rs.12 lacs for higher studies in the U.K.
Prof. J.S. Rana, College Registrar, Prof. Sukhvinder Kaur Rai, HOD History, Prof. Manpreet Kaur, HOD Political Science and Prof. Santokh Singh HOD Mathematics were also present on this occasion.
