Filmmakers have tried and tested almost every element to narrate stories and present it in several creative ways. It’s boring to watch films shot in usual locations. To break this monotony a few directors have taken the step to film a story on an unusual location like on a cruise or inside a Cruise ship which also helps in gaining traction of the viewers as they lure to taste different slices of life through the medium of cinema. There have been a number of films that have been set on the high seas:

Dil Dhadakne Do

In the ever experimenting world of Bollywood, there have been phenomenal directors who chose to shoot the movie on cruise ships rather on land. One of them is Zoya Akhtar. Zoya's upcoming movie Dil Dhadakne Do, a multi-starrer big budget project, is shot on a cruise. All the leading actors of the movie including Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah had a gala time shooting this movie. Shot across the Mediterranean sea, this flick has exotic locations that have made a great canvas for the film.

Mann

A young woman falls in love with a handsome playboy, while aboard a Singapore to India cruise. They make plans to meet again, but fate may have other plans. The famous song “Nasha ye Pyaar ka Nasha hai” shot inside a cruise ship showcased how parties are held in a cruise and enticed viewers to watch this amazing love story played by Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala in the love story film, Mann.

Jack and Jill

Adam Sandler plays both title characters in this absurd comedy, with Katie Holmes as Jack's wife. To celebrate New Year's, Jack and his family -- along with his twin sister, Jill -- go on a cruise; this is when the real star of the movie, Royal Caribbean International's Allure of the Seas, makes its film debut. Although widely considered one of the worst films created to date, "Jack and Jill" is a great vehicle to showcase the ship's best features, including the FlowRider, the rock-climbing wall and the Boardwalk carousel.

Titanic

A 17 year old boy falls in love with a girl named Rose who is set to be married but the poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. The film grossed a then-record breaking 343.6 million worldwide, and won the Oscar for Best Picture. This story of intense romance is filmed on a cruise which touches the emotions of the viewers very easily. This film sloshed more money into the coffers of Europe's lucrative cruise industry. In all sense it is a “Film To See Before You Die’’.
