Jalandhar, February 1, 2016: A seminar on Mahatma Gandhi was organized by Centre of Gandhian Studies at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.  Dr. M.L. Sharma, Former Director Gandhian Bhawan and Former Chairperson, Deptt. of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University and Dr. Manish Sharma, Present Chairperson of Gandhian Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh were the resource person for the enlightening lecture.
 
Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj welcomed the guests and told that HMV dedicated this years calendar to Gandhiji’s thought process.  She said that for building a better society, Mahatma Gandhi’s principles like speaking truth and promoting truth through non-violence are needed.  Dr. M.L. Sharma thanked the Principal for inviting him.  Dr. Sharma said that for understanding the philosophy of Gandhi Ji, you need to adhere his thoughts from heart.  He gave exact philosophy of Gandhiji for non-violence that includes absolute thoughts, words and deeds.  He described his thought process is very dynamic and based on perfection.  He explained that the change in the world is only possible by loving ourselves, which is very vivid from this autobiography.   
 
Dr. Manish Sharma also shared his thoughts on Gandhiji.  He said that we should not only remember Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October.  He described that there are many misconceptions about satyagrah but it is philosophy of life, it is a most dignified way of living.  He told students that if Gandhiji were alive, he would have changed with time.
 
Dr. Rajiv Kumar conducted the stage.  Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Head of Psychology Deptt. described resemblance between Gandhiji and Bhata Singh through a poem of Dr. Johal.  Head of Pol.Sc. Deptt. Mrs. Nita Malik and Mrs. Alka were also present on this occasion.
