A seminar on Cancer Awareness being held at KMV, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, February 5, 2015: In Kanya Maha Vidyalaya a seminar on breast cancer was organised by the Department of Student Welfare.  Dr.Shikha Chawla from Patel Hospital was the key speaker.  She said that it was very necessary to spread awareness against cancer as it would be instrumental in fighting the dreaded disease.  In her PPT presentation she revealed many alarming facts like 1 out of every 22 women if diagnosed would be found suffering from breast cancer.  It was more prevalent among the urban women as compared to the rural sector due to unhealthy eating habits & environmental pollution.  After 20 years every young girl should learn to examine the disease, so that early detection can lead to complete care. She also said that after 40 years of age mammography was recommended once every year for all women.

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma thanked the erudite speaker for imparting such useful information to the young girls & wished that it would help in saving many young and precious lives from the clutches of the dreaded prevalent breast cancer.

Principal lauded Dr.Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare, Sadhna Tandon, Dr. Neetu Chopra and Dr. Asnhu Oberoi for their efforts.
