Ludhiana,  July 17, 2015: Sankalp Diwas was observed at Ramgarhia Girls College to mark the beginning of the new academic session 2015-16. A Sehaj Path was organized and its Bhog Ceremony was solemnized on 17 July 2015 in the college auditorium. The event commenced with the recitation of kirtan by the students of PG Dept. of Music. Bhai Harbans Singh Ji Ghulla from Bhaini Sahib graced the occasion. He was accorded a warm welcome by Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu, S. Ranjodh Singh, President and S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council. Bhai Sahib rendered kirtan in his mellifluous voice and afterwards gave away prizes to the outstanding students of the previous session. He congratulated them on their excellent results. Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu said that it is due to the grace of God and consistent efforts of teachers and students that brilliant results have been achieved by the college. The staff of the college felicitated S. Ranjodh Singh and S. Surjit Singh Matharoo for undertaking a journey to the holy sikh shrine, Sri Hemkut Sahib on cycle. They cycled from Rishikesh to Govind Ghat and covered over 300 km. Dr. (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu also said that the college fraternity always feels proud to have S. Ranjodh Singh at the helm of affairs. His innovative ventures serve as a source of inspiration for the students. She further added that they should take a leaf from his book and make consistent efforts to reinvent themselves. S. Jagtar Singh averred that cycling on a tedious path at the time when torrential rains had hit the region is not a mean task. He admired the determination with which the duo completed their journey. S. Ranjodh Singh said that when one is guided by the name of the Lord, even the most challenging situations can be conquered. He advised the students to always have faith in God and stay focused as only these attributes can help them to carve out their paths. Mandeep Kaur Sandhu, Gold medalist in Women’s World Junior Championship held in Taipei, Taiwan, was also felicitated on the occasion. Dr. (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu lauded her achievement and said that such young girls serve as role models for everyone. S. Ranjodh Singh and S. Jagtar Singh said that she has brought glory to the country with her nonpareil accomplishment and her presence on the occasion surely motivated the students.
