Rohtak, May 13, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the Rohtak district administration is strictly enforcing the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994 to prevent illegal sex determination and female foeticide.

He emphasized that prenatal sex determination, facilitating such illegal testing, or promoting such practices in any form is a serious criminal offence under law and will invite stringent legal action.

The Deputy Commissioner said that any doctor, diagnostic centre operator, intermediary, family member or any other individual found involved in illegal prenatal sex determination or female foeticide can face imprisonment of up to five years and a financial penalty of up to ₹1 lakh as per legal provisions.

DC Sachin Gupta said the district administration remains fully committed to protecting the rights and dignity of the girl child and ensuring strict action against those involved in such inhumane and unlawful practices.

“Female foeticide is not merely a legal violation; it is a grave social injustice. Protecting the dignity and right to life of every girl child is a collective societal responsibility,” he said.

To strengthen enforcement and encourage citizen participation, the Deputy Commissioner informed that any person providing credible information regarding illegal prenatal sex determination or female foeticide is eligible for a cash reward of ₹1 lakh, while the identity of the informant will be kept completely confidential.

He appealed to citizens to come forward and report any suspicious activities or individuals involved in such unlawful acts so that immediate enforcement action can be taken.

The Deputy Commissioner said that upon receipt of credible information, the Health Department, in coordination with the district administration, immediately conducts enforcement action and raids against offenders, followed by strict legal proceedings as per law.

He reiterated that the administration maintains zero tolerance towards practices that endanger the lives and rights of unborn girls and called upon society to actively support efforts aimed at protecting the girl child.
