Trained officers will give new impetus to rural development: HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan

Nilokheri, August 2, 2026: A six-day capacity building training program for Block Development and Panchayat Officers, Executive Engineers, and Sub-Divisional Engineers concluded at the Haryana Rural Development Institute, Nilokheri.

HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan said that trained and empowered Block Development and Panchayat Officers are the strong foundation for a developed Haryana's rural development. He added that effective implementation of rural development schemes is possible only when officers constantly update themselves with new technologies, improved administrative efficiency, and concepts of good governance. Such training programs strengthen officers' knowledge, leadership, and decision-making skills and play a crucial role in effectively delivering public welfare schemes to the last person.

Dr. Chauhan said that promoting transparency, innovation, and public participation in the field of rural development is the need of the hour. By applying the knowledge and best practices gained during the training to their respective areas of work, officers can empower Gram Panchayats to become more empowered, self-reliant, and accountable.

 Program coordinator Sandeep Kumar said that participants received detailed guidance from experts on topics related to rural development, Panchayat administration, good governance, leadership skills, financial management, effective implementation of various development schemes, and administrative innovations.

In the closing session, Anuradha Palla and Satyaprabha from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad, along with HIRD officials, distributed certificates to participants upon completion of the training. Following this, a message of environmental protection was spread by planting trees on the institute campus.

Officer trainees from Haryana and Rajasthan included Sushila (BDPO, Alwar), Abhishek (Executive Engineer, Zila Parishad, Kaithal), Suresh Chand (BDPO, Karauli), Ishwarendra (Sub-Divisional Engineer, Beri), Sunita Kumawat (BDPO, Sikar), along with Village Secretary Ravindra Yadav, Executive Engineer Ankit Verma, Junior Engineer Amandeep, and Sarpanch Vikram Atwan were present on the occasion.
