Ludhiana, October 30, 2015: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed in the city. Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal and all district administration officials pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among fellow countrymen. This function was organised at Bachat Bhawan, here today.
The DC said that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Integration Day is being observed to reiterate India’s strength and buoyancy against adversaries. He said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is also known as the Iron Man of India who gave Ek Bharat (United India) and requested the people to work towards creating Shresth Bharat (Foremost India). He said that the vision and actions of Sardar Patel and his dedication towards ensuring the internal security of the country would be remembered on this day, he added.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included ADC Khanna Mr Ajay Sood, Assistant Commissioner Miss Kanu Thind, DEO (Secondary) Mrs Paramjit Kaur Chahal, DEO (Primary) Mr Gurjot Singh, DTO Mr Dalwinderjit Singh, DPRO Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, besides several others.
