Raima Sen opens up about shooting dynamic action sequences in Netflix’s ‘Mai’

Actress Raima Sen, who has time and again amazed viewers with her on-screen transformations, has cemented her place in the entertainment industry as one of the most versatile performers. Now, she will be seen in Netflix India’s upcoming crime thriller ‘Mai’ as the antagonist ‘Neelam’.

For the first time ever, the actress would be seen balancing the grey shades and performing a lot of intense action-packed sequences, something she has not extensively explored before. Striving for authenticity, for a few of the sequences, the actress learnt the ropes on a real gun.

Sharing more about her experience, Raima Sen shares, “Initially, I found it difficult because the gun was heavy and I couldn't even press my finger against the trigger.  However, after working with an action master, I realised that the most important thing is to just stay in the zone. The idea was to make the action sequences come out as realistic and still have a cinematic edge to it. Eventually , it turned out really well. Needless to say, it was quite a thrilling experience.”

Mai takes us on a journey of a middle-class mother (Sakshi Tanwar) whose daughter (Wamiqa Gabbi) is run over by a truck right in front of her eyes. Tanwar then becomes vengeful and sets out on a journey to get back at those responsible, no matter what it takes.
