Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp to start from July 10 at Lyallpur Khalsa College
The Bhangra Camp will work to prepare a crop of new artists and connect them with culture and heritage: Principal Dr. Suman Chopra

Jalandhar, July 3, 2025: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is known for its heritage, culture and sports. In continuation with this, a 10-day Punjabi Folk Dance Camp is being organized at the college's open air theatre from July 10-19 for the preservation and promotion of Punjabi heritage. A necessary meeting was held at the college in connection with this folk dance camp, in which a poster of the camp was released and T-shirts related to the camp were also given.
Principal Dr. Suman Chopra, while explaining the purpose of the camp, said that Lyallpur Khalsa College is continuously working for the flourishing and promotion of Bhangra. This Bhangra camp will make a valuable contribution in preparing a crop of new artists. She added that such camps connect the youth with their heritage and also play an important role in creating a strong society by protecting them from vices like drugs. She said that the young and children should benefit immensely from such camps. She informed that the college has been a pioneer in presenting Bhangra on the world stage and organizing the Bhangra World Cup and is one of the best institutions to preserve and develop the heritage of Bhangra.
On this occasion, the in-charge of the Bhangra Training Camp and Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina welcomed everyone and informed that the registration for this camp is being done in online and offline modes. Offline registration will be done on July 9 at 5:00 pm in the college campus. In this camp, learners of all age groups can participate without any fee. He informed that about 400 participants participate in this camp every year. He added that this camp is being organized for the last 8 years.
On this occasion, Vice-Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Prof. Manish Goyal, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Harjinder Kaur, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Prof. Anu Mom, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Prof. Onkar, Prof. Jasdeep Singh, Prof. Rakhi Talwar, Jatinder Lambar, Sukhjit Sukhi etc. and students of the college's Bhangra, Giddha and Ludi teams were also present.
