Punjab News/Complaints received on official e-mail ids to be acknowledged within 24 hours

Chandigarh, August 28, 2014: The Punjab government has issued strict directives to officers of all departments directly receiving public grievances on their official e-mail ids created under Administrative Reforms to respond promptly on each and every complaint besides ensuring impartial justice.
In a communiqué in this regard the Punjab Government has directed the authorities concerned that Administrative Reforms Department has created their exclusive e-mail ids to facilitate common masses seeking justice from various departments. The communiqué also revealed that it has come to the notice of the department that some of the departments and officers concerned were not informing the complainants and not taking the public grievances seriously.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that instructions in this regard have been conveyed to all Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries for the compliance of the directions. He said that all concerned have been directed to resolve the public grievances being received on their e-mail ids besides ensuring timely and according to rules delivery of justice. He said it has also been directed to ensure the acknowledgement receipt to the complainant within 24 hours of filing of complaint.
The Spokesperson said all concerned would also inform the complainants about time line of resolving public grievances. He said that all the departments were being online for the facilitation of common masses and the officers directly looking after public dealing sections would route all the files through online system besides ensuring speedy and time bound justice to the complainants.
