PUNJAB GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE: Job Fair For People With Special Needs On October 2

Ludhiana, September 30, 2015: For making people with special needs self dependent, the Punjab government  in collaboration with an NGO, Sarthak, will be organising a Job Fair at the school opened for children with special needs on Chandigarh Road, Jamalpur, here on October 2. A large number of people with special needs from different parts of the state would participate in this Job Fair.
      While presiding over a meeting organised to review the arrangements of this Job Fair, Mrs Shena Agarwal, ADC (D) informed that people in the age group of 18-35 can take part in this job fair. She informed that people, who are either physically challenged or are mute, can participate. This Job Fair would be held from 9 am to 2 pm and more than 35 prominent companies would hire the people. She informed that this Job Fair would be inaugurated by Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr Surjit Kumar Jyani.
      Mrs Agarwal has appealed to all the eligible candidates to participate in this Job Fair, which has been specially organised to make people with special needs self dependent. She informed that the eligible candidates need to bring only two passport size photographs, educational certificates and other necessary documents.
      It is pertinent to mention that the Punjab government has joined hands with NGO, Sarthak, to help people with special needs to become self dependent. This NGO is also opening a Skill Development Centre at Jamalpur, where children with special needs would be imparted training in different fields. In this centre, children with special needs can do three month courses in English, Science, Computers and other such courses.
      Prominent among those present in the meeting included SDM Mrs Anuprita Johal, Social Activist Mr Ravinder Arora, Sarthak NGO';s project manager Mr Arun Sharma, besides several others.
